Large operational challenges across different areas of Amazon's delivery stations in the local Kansas City and St. Louis area, such as missed packages, disorganized information, inconsistent metrics, and high package return-to-station (RTS) rates. On-road station management was having trouble communicating business and labor needs in an efficient way.
Combat the number of packages being returned by drivers at the end of the night and increase the number of successful deliveries made by our delivery partners. Organize a time-efficient and visually appealing data set that can be quickly relayed to management and our delivery partners. Get station management organized on business and labor needs and make communication efficient.
Leveraging my skills in graphic design, Excel, and data analysis, I created weekly reports communicating coaching and growth opportunities. The use of my custom macros enabled the display and analysis of data that would otherwise have taken hours to gather. After these were sent out, I would collaborate with leadership and relevant stakeholders on action plans. I also created a resource document and SOP documents for the on-road leadership team that reduced the time it took to set up and run a successful operation.
As a part of the leadership at Amazon, I Supported the management by helping reduce “concessions” by 40%, “delivery not received” by 27%, “parcel not on van” by 38%, and increased “delivery estimated accuracy” by 33%. I also helped lead our station to 1st in our region for RTS and 2nd for PNOV. I also significantly decreased the time it takes to create reports and translate drivers’ codes with macros from hours to minutes. Two of my data analysis macro sheets and one of my management organizational sheets were shared regionwide to help other station management teams. The positive feedback received from both the management teams and delivery partners validated the effectiveness of my actions.
